That is super cool. I remember writing to Bonnie Bryant in the mid 90s, totally thought she had written me back (but as I grew older realized it was a form letter too..)
Yes, I found out that Mr. Farley died of cancer sometime right after I received my letter so most likely was not even well enough to reply. But someone took the time to send me not just the letter but the photograph as well which is still pretty cool.
That's so cool!! Especially the photograph!
Walter Farley!! So cool!
I don't think you get my replies when I reply on your comments, because I don't get yours- but I just wanted to say, I'm 5'3" 110 pounds with short legs and no butt! I could have gone with a 16.5 seat but the 17 seems to fit me fine. The saddle I bought (a dover circuit) has a 15" or 16" length flap (I forget) which seems to work well- I've noticed most dressage saddles in a size 17 are 18" long!! Way too long for me. Point is: I'm short and weirdly shaped as well but its possible to find good deals that fit :) (although I share your pain trying to find something to fit! its difficult always!) My jumping saddle was an accident too, another girl at the barn was trying it out and its *suppose* to be a 17.5 Kentaur, but it fits more like a 17 in my opinion. It was way too small for her and her leg was way too long for it- fit me like a glove. But I also paid 850$ for it, but its nicer and will last a lot longer. I just didn't have the money to pay for two nice saddles! (although you can find some used kenaturs around that price, if your'e about my build I recommend trying one). Good luck if your'e in the market soon! Saddle hunting is a headache.
yeah that's tough!! I hope you find a good saddle when you get home :) I'll probably only do local shows this year, but if I get a weekend I want to come see Loki if he does a show near me! I may go up to maydaze just for fun :) [I wish blogspot and wordpress talked to each other better!)
